#1 Surpassing the living wage 

The real Living Wage, advocated by the Living Wage Foundation, is a voluntary and independently set pay rate that reflects the true cost
of living. At AP Mitchell, we Surpass the Living Wage across all group divisions to ensure that people are not trapped in working poverty.

#2 Inspire and educate young people 

Our Apprenticeship and Work Placement Schemes provide young people with employability skills for the workplace and open their eyes to the huge range of careers in Engineering and Construction.

#3 Support and scale social enterprise 

We are a business that operates to deliver social and/or environmental benefits, for example, employing jobs to local people and supporting development of healthy, strong and resilient communities through initiatives to help them help themselves.

We recently took part in a social values project in support of Neston Community Youth Centre (NCYC), contributing to a Christmas shoebox appeal. This initiative focuses on providing gifts to children within the local area who may otherwise go without presents during the festive season. Our team worked together to collect, assemble, and carefully pack a range of items such as toys, stationery, warm clothing, toiletries, ensuring each shoebox was thoughtfully filled with gifts.

The project offered a chance for our staff to give back to the community in a hands-on and personal way, reflecting our commitment to supporting families and young people facing hardship. Through the generosity and effort of everyone involved, we were able to help spread some joy and positivity during a time of year that can be particularly challenging for many families.

We are proud to contribute to such an important cause and grateful to NCYC for their continued dedication to making a real difference in the lives of local children. We look forward to supporting similar initiatives in the future and continuing to strengthen our involvement within the community.

Between January and March, AP Mitchell participated in a significant social values initiative at Neston Community Youth Centre, demonstrating its ongoing dedication to supporting the local community. The project focused on a range of renovation and improvement tasks within the centre, including painting, decorating, and carrying out minor remedial works to address existing maintenance issues. The aim was to refresh and brighten the space, creating a more welcoming and functional environment for the many groups and individuals who use the facility.

The work was carried out entirely by staff volunteers from AP Mitchell, who devoted their time, skills, and effort to ensure the project was completed to a high standard. All decorating materials, tools, and supplies were also generously provided by the company, allowing the community centre to benefit without any financial burden.

The staff at Neston Community Youth Centre expressed their appreciation for the transformation and the positive impact it will have on those who rely on the centre's services.

Barry, a spokesperson from the centre said- ' We would like to thank AP Mitchell for all that you have provided us at NCYC with our redecorating project. It has been really well received by everyone who comes into the centre. A huge thank you to the staff volunteers who helped coordinate and helped decorate.

This project further demonstrates AP Mitchell’s strong commitment to social value, community engagement, and making a meaningful difference through practical support and teamwork.

At AP Mitchell we pride ourselves on championing local community projects for outstanding causes in our local area. One such project we have pledged to is new equipment for a local park and community area.

We have pledged £1000 to this local project 

This project will help update and revitalise a central hub for local community activities and provide an activity space for young adults in the local area. This community backed project is going to be an excellent addition to our local area. 

At AP Mitchell we pride ourselves on championing local community projects for outstanding causes in our local area. One such project we have pledged to is the fundraising for Wirral Wise Guys In association with Magenta Housing.

Wirral Wise Guys is a charity on a mission to empower men to prioritise and enhance their overall wellbeing through education, awareness, and support. Striving to foster a culture where men are encouraged to proactively address their physical, mental, and emotional health, resulting in healthier, happier lives. By providing accessible resources, promoting open conversations, and promoting positive lifestyle choices, they aim to inspire men to take charge of their wellbeing and create a ripple effect of wellness within their families and communities

We have donate £400 to this fantastic cause!

At AP Mitchell we pride ourselves on championing local community projects for outstanding causes in our local area. One such project we have pledged to is the fundraising for ACCG alongside long standing partners Equans.

We provided this donation in aid of a local heating initiative at the Claremont Centre which houses the Afro Caribbean Community Group.

We will continue to champion local initiatives that give back to the community and provide for groups that help support our communities on a grassroots level.
