Liverpool John Moores University
We recently installed a four transformer and low voltage section panels into the basement of the Aldham Robarts building of the esteemed John Moores University - This electrical project is just one of the high quality projects that we offer at AP Mitchell as principal contractors.
The installation involved coordinated logistical planning due to the restricted access and basement location. Specialist lifting equipment and controlled handling procedures were utilised to safely transport the transformer and LV panels from the delivery vehicle to the final installation position within the designated electrical plant area.
The scope of works included:
Delivery and controlled offloading of the transformer and LV section panels.
Safe movement of the 4-tonne transformer through the building to the basement plant room using appropriate lifting and handling equipment (such as skates, pallet trucks, and lifting gantries where required).
Positioning and placement of the transformer onto its prepared plinth / mounting base.
Installation and alignment of LV section panels within the designated switchgear area.
Ensuring all equipment was installed in accordance with manufacturer specifications, project drawings, and relevant electrical and health and safety regulations.
Coordination with site management to minimise disruption to university operations while maintaining safe working conditions throughout the installation.
